Privacy Policy
What we collect,
and why.
Updated October 15, 2026
This revision covers coalition applications, institutional inquiries, consented updates, and privacy-conscious measurement.
Information we collect
We collect what you choose to share: your name, email address, optional background or affiliation, mission interests, participation preferences, and the content of applications or inquiries. Lab Notes collects your email and explicit consent. We retain previously submitted materials under the policy below. Stripe processes payments; we do not collect card numbers in our forms.
Privacy-conscious measurement
When enabled on the published site, Replit-hosted analytics measures page visits and fixed-choice actions such as opening an application or completing a signup. Our custom events include broad device categories and mission choices, never names, email addresses, application text, or payment identifiers. Our custom event code respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Confirmed-payment events are sent only after Stripe confirms payment; browser measurement may undercount and is not the accounting ledger.
How we use it
We use your information to respond to your inquiry, review coalition signups, and send the updates you asked for. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where it lives
Submissions are stored on reputable cloud infrastructure and are accessible only to Lab staff. Transactional email (confirmations and notifications) is delivered through an email service provider acting on our behalf.
Coalition signups
When you sign up for the Coalition of Altruism Leaders, we store your submission, the consent version you agreed to, and the time of consent so the Lab can review it and contact you. The signup form does not collect payment details. Signing up is not automatic admission. Any publication of your name or affiliation would require your confirmation and permission.
Cookies
The public site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. A single session cookie is used solely to keep administrators signed in to the Lab console.
Retention and your choices
We keep submissions for as long as they are relevant to the work. You may request a copy, correction, or deletion of your information through pete@altruismlab.com. To leave Lab Notes, reply “unsubscribe” to an update or email that address. These requests are handled by the Lab; there is not currently a self-service account or one-click unsubscribe page.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revision date above will change with it. Material changes will be noted on this page.
